Flesh.
Gallery Rotor . 2014 . Gothenburg
Whilst involved in the act of painting I can never rest as I continue my investigation of human behaviour, self-control, differing gestures and bodily intrusions. With deep fascination and multilayered curiosity, I meticulously explores physicality, human interaction and bodily touches. My work is an excursion amidst the memories of the body and of flesh itself.
The motifs in my work are often focussed on the momentary and depict the human body and limbs frozen in different arrangements and gestures. As a sort of contrapuntal for our inherited behaviours, embedded mechanisms and in-built expressions.
I use colours, water, the surface and light, to illuminate what is happening in the moment. It is a gentle act of combining what is present and what is in-between.
